Verona Villafranca Airport
Verona Airport is officially called Valerio Catullo di Verona Villafranca (named after the local Roman writer Catullus), and it is located at Villafranca which is 12km to the southwest of Verona. The iarport is generally referred to as Verona-Villafranca and was originally a military airport with the western part still being used by the Italian air force. The airport works in conjunction with the smaller Brescia-Montichiari Airport under the name Aeroporti Sistema del Garda.
It is a 15 minute drive from Verona situated in the middle of the provinces of Brescia, Mantua, Rovigo, Vicenza, Trento, Bolzano and Verona serving a population of more than four million inhabitants and in 2007 the airport handled 3,510,259 passengers.
